The Toronto Maple Leafs got a nice surprise at practice yesterday as goalie Frederik Andersen hit the ice with the team. It was the first time since March 19 that Andersen participated in any form of team activity whether it be practice or a game. He took one of the nets as a regular and there's hope now that Andersen could ramp things up and get some regular season action in. "Get up to speed again...that's the challenge when you don't skate or see pucks for awhile.""It's just been a process for me to deal with, and right now I'm just happy to be out with the guys. It was really fun to be out there competing with the guys and something I've looked look forward to for a long time."Andersen is in the middle of a contract year so it's been a bit of a tough blow to deal with an injury all year. It's no secret that Andersen's NHL future might not be in Toronto so to play through a contract year injured and carry a 2.91 goals against average and a .897 save percentage it's not exactly the most enticing numbers for teams looking for a goalie. However Andersen isn't worried at all. "I know what I'm worth, and I'm a great goalie, so I don't think that's really at the forefront."Would you take Andersen back for another year or two?
