The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas have been getting busy working the phones and making lots of trips across the NHL scouting possible deadline additions. Of course everybody would like to see the Leafs add a first pairing right defenseman, however head coach Mike Babcock probably has a "want" list of his own. Babcock likely wants a couple of "grinders" heading into the playoffs and it sounds like Dubas might have targeted one in the Jake Muzzin trade. In his latest "31 Thoughts" column, Friedman reports that the Leafs have talked to the Kings about forward Kyle Clifford. Friedman points out the connection between Dubas and Clifford during the "Uptown" days. Clifford is a hard worker and has a small contract the Leafs could take on no problem. The 28 year old currently has 11 points in 46 games.
