"Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake Gardiner addressed the media this afternoon. Gardiner revealed a couple of main points, first of course being that he was going to make his return to the lineup tonight. Another interesting revelation during the media scrum was how Gardiner's injury was handled. When Gardiner first returned to practice, the Leafs defenseman was asked if surgery was on the table and the defenseman wouldn't answer the question. On Wednesday he admitted that everybody involved looked at the possibility of surgery. «It was debated, but we decided that it wasn't need at this time.» This could likely mean that Gardiner will have surgery after the playoffs, but what's concerning is the fact that Gardiner is clearly hurt and could be a liability during the playoffs. Hopefully, that's not the case.
