"The Toronto Maple Leafs will go through a couple of changes on the ice this year and they'e already gone through some changes on the coaching staff. That continued on Wednesday as Sportsnets Elliotte Friedman reports that the New York Islanders have hired Leafs' assistant coach Jim Hiller. Leafs' head coach Mike Babcock has now lost two pieces of his staff as D.J. Smith also left the Leafs bench this summer to take the Senators vacant head coaching position.
Hearing former TOR assistant Jim Hiller will be joining NYI coaching staff. A Lamoriello favourite. — Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) June 19, 2019
