"As the Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas continue to prepare for free agency, it seems they haven't given up on one of their trade targets. We heard from NHL insider Frank Seravalli recently that the Leafs were in trade talks for Arizona Coyotes' goalie Darcy Kuemper. That was before the expansion draft with some teams hesitant to make moves as they would be forced to leave a goalie exposed. With the expansion draft behind us, teams are back in the mix for Kuemper and according to Pierre LeBrun one of those teams is the Leafs. LeBrun reports that the Leafs along with the Colorado Avalanche, Philadelphia Flyers, Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers are all in the mix. The 31 year old is in the final year of his deal which carries a $4.5million cap hit and registered a 2.56 goals against average and .907 save percentage last year while dealing with injuries.
