"The Toronto Maple Leafs got some tough news on Tuesday afternoon. They've got some injury news to deal with to a key depth player. Forward Alexander Kerfoot was injured during practice and is now labelled as "day to day". Despite being mentioned in plenty of trade rumours during the offseason, the 26 year old is expected to play a key depth role for the Leafs this season because of the condensed schedule. He registered 28 points in 65 games last year but couldn't really get it going during the season because of injuries, however he added three points in five games during the bubble playoffs.
