"As we reported earlier today, things looked for the Toronto Maple Leafs at Monday's morning skate. Goaltender Frederik Andersen, center Auston Matthews and defenseman Nikita Zaitsev were all full participants during today's preparation for Tuesday night's game at the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Head coach Mike Babcock put a damper on the high hopes as he confirmed that Matthews, Zaitsev and Leo Komarov, who skated on his own today, will all miss tomorrow's contest in Tampa Bay. He wasn't quite sure if Frederik Andersen will start versus the Lightning or backup the NHL's Third Star of the Week Curtis McElhinney.
The good news is that all the injured players will make the quick two-game road trip with the team and could be available for Thursday night's game at the NHL leading Nashville Predators. "
