It was a bit of a blow for the Toronto Maple Leafs when they lost top six forward William Nylander. He had just registered 4 points in 2 games and the Leafs announced that he was thrown into COVID protocol. No positive test for Nylander, he just had to quarantine as a close contact and after not playing since April 5, he's finally back on track to possibly play tonight. Nylander explained what happened and how it's been over the last couple of weeks. "We got back from the road and I met somebody who tested positive for COVID the next day. So I had to isolate for nine days and had nine nights of tests. Now I'm here."
"I was worried about maybe me getting it and giving it to the guys, which is something that I really didn't want to happen. I was pretty nervous but thank God nobody got it and that was the probably the number one thing."Head coach Sheldon Keefe said both Nylander and Auston Matthews could play tonight just as easily as they could continue to be sidelined.
