Panthers fan makes it all about the Maple Leafs during Stanley Cup Finals
The Leafs haven't played a hockey game in almost two months, yet still became a hot topic during Game 2 thanks to one Panthers fan.
Although much of the discussion following Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals was about Leon Draisatl's hit on Aleksander Barkov, one Panthers fan became a hot topic after being caught on the broadcast wearing a «Leafs Suck» shirt.
Seated behind one of the nets, it was hard to miss the fan surrounded by a sea of red with the odd Oilers apparel sprinkled in. The Leafs could be considered rivals of both teams in the Stanley Cup Finals to different extents, but once again, this fan has proven that the Leafs are at the center of the hockey universe.
Other fanbases often complain about the Leafs getting all of the attention from the media, but then they go and do something like this, proving that the Leafs continue to live rent free in the heads of every other fanbase.
While hilarious, it made the Leafs relevant when they shouldn't be, and on top of that, wearing apparel of a team that isn't even playing is laughable - as should wearing split jerseys or shirts (unless you're the parents of siblings like the Tkachuks).
Game 3 goes Thursday night and given the colour scheme of the Oilers, it may be a little more difficult to spot another "Leafs Suck" shirt. Although, Oilers fans will probably be more concerned if their favourite and most viral fan will be in attendance instead.
