"The Nashville Predators and P.K. Subban rolled into Toronto last night and while Subban was a -2 on the ice, it's what he said before the game that caused quite a stir. While Subban only becomes UFA after the 2021-22 season, that didn't stop Sportsnet's Shawn McKenzie from asking Subban if he could picture himself playing for the Leafs one day in the future.
Subban set social media ablaze when he mentioned that he'd always dreamed of playing for the Leafs growing up in the area and took it one step further when he stated "You never know what can happen during your career". There were some brief rumours earlier this season that Subban could find himself on the Leafs due to possible Preds cap issues. Talk briefly heated up again when he attended a Leafs game during the Preds bye week and again this week when he attended a Raptors game. Subban will be 34 when his contract expires, would you like to see the Leafs trade for Subban before that?
How about P.K. Subban casually telling @ShawnMcKenzieSN in his over-the-boards interview that he's always dreamed of playing for the #leafs? «You never know what can happen during your career.» — Chris Johnston (@reporterchris) February 8, 2018
