There was lots of hype around the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers game tonight due to the possibility of Leafs forward Ryan Reaves and Rangers forward Matt Rempe fighting. Through two periods, that hasn't happened, but given the events near the end of the second period that could change.

Late in the second period Rempe took a run at Ilya Lyubushkin in the Leafs' zone. Lyubushkin played the puck in the corner before Rempe took a run at him, catching him in a vulnerable position and crushing his head against the boards. It could have easily been called a charging penalty, as Rempe took five full strides and left his feet to deliver the hit, or even a boarding penalty. Of course, the play went uncalled.

Lyubushkin was seen holding his head on the Leafs' bench and having conversations with the Leafs trainers at the end of the 2nd period and did not come out to start the 3rd.

It will be interesting to see if Rempe answers the bell in the 3rd period. Reaves mentioned prior to the game that if Rempe took a run at someone, he'd go after him, so let's see if he makes good on his promise.
