The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas continue to try and figure out a deal to sign restricted free agent Mitch Marner. However according to one report, he's also trying to bring back Jake Gardiner. Steve Simmons of The Toronto Sun reports that Dubas wants to bring Gardiner back and Gardiner's first choice remains the Leafs. Simmons adds that the obvious salary cap constraints remain the biggest roadblock but could be manageable if Marner signs a bridge contract. Unfortunately, keeping Gardiner in Toronto would likely result in a trade of Kasperi Kapanen or Andreas Johnsson. Would you like to see Dubas work some of his salary cap magic and bring Gardiner back?
