Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas stated after the season that his main priority was to sign Mitch Marner first, then the rest would follow. We've heard however that the Marner negotiations aren't going so well and it seems Dubas has decided to possibly move on to other things.According to both Chris Johnston and Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Leafs are closing in on a deal with Kasperi Kapanen. This is very interesting because Dubas made it clear that his first priority was to get the Marner deal done first and could only address the others once he knew Marner's situation. Friedman announced that the deal will likely be completed soon.
It sounds like Kasperi Kapanen and the #leafs are getting closer on an extension. — Chris Johnston (@reporterchris) June 21, 2019
