All expectations are that the Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas are going to make a strong run at free agent defenseman Alex Pietrangelo. This will obviously take some heavy movement by Dubas to create salary cap space. We've heard lots of chatter that Andreas Johnsson and Alexander Kerfoot could be moved out in separate deals similar to Kasperi Kapanen to clear up cap space. While the expectation is that Morgan Rielly would be waiting with open arms for Pietrangelo as his new partner, it seems he might be the one shipped out to make room for the Stanley Cup champ. According to Kevin McGran of the Toronto Star, to make room for Pietrangelo's expected $8-9million salary, Rielly might actually be the one shipped out of town. You can easily argue that Pietrangelo is the better defensman but Rielly is four years younger and still has room to grow and of course would just create the same hole on the left side. Would you move Rielly to make room for Pietrangelo?
