"The New York Rangers bought out defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk last week, just a couple of years after signing him to a massive deal as a free agent. Health issues were a big concern during his time in New York and he really didn't look anything like the defenseman he was in St. Louis. After being bought out by the Rangers, it was expected Shattenkirk would sign a small prove it deal with a team. He did just that as he signed a one year deal worth $1.75million with the Tampa Bay Lightning after negotiating with about 5 or 6 teams. According to David Pagnotta, the Toronto Maple Leafs were in on Shattenkirk along with the Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets. Would you have liked to see Shattenkirk in a Leafs' uniform?
Shattenkirk had serious interest from several teams, including Toronto, Colorado and Winnipeg. He made decision and chose Tampa last night. https://t.co/lQmi6xoDt2 — David Pagnotta (@TheFourthPeriod) August 5, 2019
