During warmups ahead of Game 1, we saw Pat Maroon stray over the red line at centre ice, gliding across into the Leafs' half of the ice, as if to dare the Leafs to do something about it.
Well, apparently Ryan Reaves saw the videos, because on Monday night, just ahead of Game 2, it was Reaves who crossed over into the Bruins' half of the ice, almost colliding with Maroon. Maybe it was his way of saying "two can play this game".
Maroon and Reaves have not squared up and dropped the gloves yet in the series, but it would appear as though a scrap is a legitimate possibility tonight with Maroon coming to centre ice to meet Reaves to trade words.
Reaves dropped the gloves 7 times for the Leafs this season and is never shy about welcoming all comers. The 37-year-old has been one of the most feared enforcers in the NHL for the last 14 seasons and while his career may be winding down, at 6'2, 226 lbs, he's still fearless and still dangerous when the gloves come off.
Maroon is no slouch either. At 6'3, 234 lbs, there aren't too many guys in the league who are eager to drop the mitts with the 3-time Stanley Cup winner. Unfortunately for him, Reaves is one of the guys who wouldn't even hesitate to stand and trade haymakers.
