"The Toronto Maple Leafs were embarrassed by the Vancouver Canucks last night by a 6-3 final score. While the game was actually close on the scoreboard most of the way, it was an absolute disaster in the third period. Much like Jack Campbell has done recently, goalie David Rittich shouldered the blame for the loss. "I'm taking full responsibility for the game. I think players did great job. They got three goals for me and I just didn't respond so I just got to get better."
"First period was good. Second one, there was two tough bounces and I don't know what happened in the third. I got to figure it out."
However it's head coach Sheldon Keefe's comments that has people talking Wednesday morning. "I'm concerned about our goaltending, obviously. We got to get that sorted out, but I'm not concerned about our team. I believe in our group. We played well enough to win here tonight ... we got to get better goaltending to give our group confidence"
The Leafs are 5-3-2 in their last 10 but have a .839 save percentage in their last six and have lost five in row.
