"The Toronto Maple Leafs got the job done last night against the Montreal Canadiens. While it wasn't always pretty and the Leafs trailed for most of the game, the Leafs got things done when it counted which included a 5 on 3 power play. One Leafs' player stood out last night and it wasn't Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner or goalie Frederik Andersen, it was William Nylander who's more often than not the target of criticism from the media and fans. Last night he was the hero and head coach Sheldon Keefe said it's no surprise after what he say last year and he's happy that Nylander has come out on a mission after a very open face to face meeting before the season. «He was a pretty explosive player last season, too,» Keefe said. «He's a great talent. I think he's come in really motivated and driven to continue to be a difference maker and to take it to another level.«We've had a lot of pretty blunt discussions between he and I about where he needs to continue to get better away from the puck. He's bought into that. I think it goes hand-in-hand. When he's competing away from the puck, he's more engaged when he has it. He's more involved in the game.«He was really good today. He and John (Tavares) were both really good.»What do you think of Keefe's comments?
