"We would say it's another disappointing first round exit for the Toronto Maple Leafs however this time technically they didn't even make the playoffs. Toronto was ousted by Columbus in five games during the NHL's Stanley Cup Qualifying round and it's just more of the same. Much like the years before, the Leafs just couldn't get it done when it mattered and the stats back that up that certain guys just seem to disappear when it matters most. Sportsnet Stats shared some things that doesn't exactly make some of the team's leaders look good. "Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and William Nylander have combined for 0 goals in 3 career winner-take-all games""Leafs are goalless in their last 76:06 of action in winner-take-all games with 37 shots on goal"While the loss and many others can't really be put on Frederik Andersen's shoulders, these numbers aren't pretty either. "Frederik Andersen: Last 8 potential series clinching games Record 0-8GAA 3.49
SV% .877"
It's not just this group of players as the franchise continues to struggle. "Leafs have not won a StanleyCup playoff series since the 2004 conference quarter-finals against the Senators.
They have lost each of their last 6 series, losing 5 potential series-clinching games by a 24-11 margin.""
