"The Toronto Maple Leafs surprised some people yesterday when they put a couple of players on waivers. General manager Kyle Dubas placed both forward Jason Spezza and goalie Aaron Dell on waivers. Just like when the Montreal Canadiens placed Corey Perry on waivers, many believe that there's a chance that a veteran like Spezza could get claimed along with his bargain contract. However Spezza isn't having it. Spezza's agent Rick Curran told the media last night that Spezza would simply retire if he was claimed by another team. The 37 year old has made it clear he wants to finish his NHL career in a Leafs' uniform.
