The biggest story most Toronto Maple Leafs' fans will be following this summer is the future of winger James van Riemsdyk. Most fans would love to see him stick around in Toronto, however it's probably unrealistic as he'll be able to land a seven year deal worth $6million a year. While the Leafs might be able to afford that under the cap next season, in year two it will likely cause a problem with William Nylander, Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews all receiving pay raises in the next couple of years. TSN's Craig Button and Mark Roe brought up five potential landing spots for JVR, and Toronto wasn't one of those destinations. Button labeled the Edmonton Oilers, Carolina Hurricanes and New Jersey Devils as possible landing spots. The Devils are the most realistic out of Button's list as the Devils have the cap space and would provide JVR some young talented players to play with. Roe mentions the Buffalo Sabres and Arizona Coyotes as possible fits. It's hard to believe JVR would leave a successful team like Toronto to sign a long term deal with two struggling and rebuilding teams. There's one team they both agreed on and could make sense, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Do you see JVR signing with any of these teams?
