The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas have tried to add to their blueline over the last couple of years to make it stronger. Last year general manager Kyle Dubas made some moves acquiring Jake Muzzin in season and then Cody Ceci and Tyson Barrie during the summer. Dubas has also tried a couple of times to trade for St. Louis Blues captain Alex Pietrangelo.Obviously that hasn't happened. The big hope was that Dubas would find a way to clear up some space and throw the bank at the Ontario native. Unfortunately for the Leafs that dream now seems dead. The NHL is expected to have a flat cap next year which means no increase and that likely means that Dubas and the Leafs' won't make much of a splash. In fact with Dubas handing out a lot of extensions throughout the season, Alexander Barabanov might be the Leafs' biggest free agent signing before next season. Do you think there's still a chance the Leafs could land Pietrangelo?
