The Winnipeg Jets are up against the salary cap crunch this summer and will likely lose some pieces. One of them is right shot defenseman Tyler Myers who's set to become UFA this summer. The 29 year old is coming off a contract which saw him earn $5.5million a season and at 29 is likely looking for his last big payday. It's hard to imagine, but Myers has been in the league for 10 years now and should be one of a couple of warning signs to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Many fans and analysts have pegged Myers as a perfect fit for the right side of the Leafs defense. While Myers has averaged 20 minutes a game during the regular season, those numbers drop when it comes to the playoffs including this year where he averaged 18 minutes and failed to register a point during six games. His ice time was sheltered during the first round and he only registered four blocks and six hits during those six games. Everything points to signing Myers to a contract with term being a complete disaster for the Leafs.
