As Brad Treliving twiddles his thumbs in Toronto, the NHL has been abuzz on Wednesday with a litany of trades being processed well ahead of Friday's 3pm trade deadline.

After Sean Walker, Bowen Byram and Adam Henrique were moved today, among others, the biggest deal of the day belongs to the Vegas Golden Knights. Per Elliotte Friedman, the Golden Knights are in the process of trading for prized pending UFA Noah Hanifin.

This move comes shortly after the Golden Knights already traded for Anthony Mantha and mere days after placing Mark Stone on LTIR, opening up a ton of cap space. The return for Hanifin is not yet known, but a contract extension is believed to be included in the deal.

This obviously means that the Golden Knights are expecting Stone to be out for the remainder of the season, which is very convenient. With the playoffs just around the corner, the Golden Knights look like the favourites again this season after a pair of impact moves.
