Sheldon Keefe names his starting goalies for the next two games against Buffalo and Boston
The Boston Bruins outclassed the Toronto Maple Leafs Monday night in a 4-1 victory. The game saw the Bruins score four times on just 27 shots on Joseph Woll in what many believed would be Ilya Samsonov's game at the start of the day. Woll surprised everyone when he led the team out onto the ice for warmups in an effort by Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe to play mind games with the Bruins.
With a rematch against the B's slated for tomorrow in Boston, everyone knew that both Samsonov and Woll would each play a game as they take on the Buffalo Sabres tonight as well in the front end of the back-to-back. Until this morning however, no one knew who would play which game. Following the Leafs' morning skate, it was confirmed that Samsonov would get the nod against Buffalo tonight, leaving Woll to suit up for tomorrow's grudge match against Boston.
Samsonov has won 9 of his last 11 starts and will look to rebound following a loss to the Vegas Golden Knights last week where he gave up five goals on 31 shots. On the season, Samsonov is 15-6-6 with 2 shutouts to go along with a 3.23 GAA and .883 save percentage while Woll is 9-6-1 with a 2.83 GAA and .914 save percentage.
