The Professional Women's Hockey League is set to kick off their inaugural season on January 1st, 2024. With the kick off date drawing closer, the PWHL have released their jerseys for the upcoming season.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear like the creative team was given much of a budget because the jerseys lack originality and uniqueness. All jerseys have the city name scribed diagonally across the chest. Teams will wear their dark jerseys at home and light jerseys on the road, similarly to what we see in the NHL.

"Our original six teams proudly represent some of North America's most-passionate hockey markets,» said Stan Kasten, PWHL Advisory Board member. «As we build our foundation and grow together this inaugural season, it's important that our markets be a focal point of our identity."

Canadian Tire Corporation, one of the league's initial partners, will have exclusive logo placement on shoulder patches of the league's three Canadian teams.

The team jersey reveals are taking a lot of heat online for how poor they show. I'm well aware of the fact that these are probably not the final designs and are just the initial jerseys for the teams' inaugural seasons, but still - how were THESE the best they could come up with? Needless to say, hockey fans are not happy with the result.

Oooof! It's rough out there. I understand that there wasn't a lot of time and runway to work with here, but it really seems as though the PWHL dropped the ball on this one.
