The incident that reportedly started the altercation was an accusation from Lucic, who believed that his wife had taken his cell phone and hid it from him. Obviously, there's a lot more to this story that we're all unaware of, but however it got to the point where it reportedly became physical, the police felt as though they had just cause to take Lucic into custody.
Per The Canadian Press report this morning, Lucic did not speak at his arraignment. Instead, a not guilty plea was submitted on his behalf by his legal representation. He was "released on personal recognizance". The veteran enforcer must also refrain from alcohol and any abuse of the victim.
Lucic remains on indefinite leave from the Bruins as this situation is sorted out. It's important to remember that a person is innocent until proven guilty, but if true, this is quite possibly a career-ender for Lucic.
Hoping and praying that he gets the help that he needs and that his wife is okay. The pre-trial will commence in mid January.
