Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery believes the NHL is favouring the Toronto Maple Leafs with the scheduling between Games 3 and 4.

Ahead of Game 3 tonight in Toronto, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery let it be known that he does not appreciate the NHL's schedule makers and their decision to give the teams an extra day between Games 3 and 4.

"I would have rather been here Thursday/Saturday, if I'm being honest.

I think we're spending more time in Toronto than Toronto's spending in Boston and we're the home team."

Once again, the Leafs are at the center of the hockey world as it is obvious the NHL wanted its biggest market to play a home game on Saturday night on primetime television.

Montgomery doesn't have an issue with the Leafs being given a Saturday night game, but has an issue with the fact that both teams are spending almost six days in Toronto for Games 3 and 4, while they spent essentially half that time in Boston for the first two games of the series.

We often see each series get a two-day break somewhere between games, but it usually happens when the teams travel from city to city and not when they have two consecutive games in the same city.

Do you think Montgomery is off base to accuse the NHL of treating the Leafs with a little more favoritism than the Bruins? Let us know in the poll below!
