9-year-old tells Leafs goaltender that he sucks in person
In the age of the internet, it has become commonplace for people to speak their mind without any sort of a filter. In some cases, people go way beyond what they might say to another person face-to-face, but for a 9-year-old Leafs fan, the opportunity to tell a Leafs goaltender that he "sucks" to his face was just too good to pass up.
In a recent game, which the Leafs were losing 4-3 at the 2nd intermission, fans lined up in the hallway between the ice and the locker room to greet the players. One young fan, who was being filmed by (presumably) his parent, was in awe of so many players, starting with Ilya Samsonov. However, when the end of the line came and Matt Murray was headed past, the young fan told Murray how he felt.
The interesting thing to note is whether he'd have said the same thing during a stretch where Murray was playing some great hockey. It's easy to get down on someone while they're not playing well, but I have to believe that if Murray was playing particularly well, the exchange may have gone down very differently.
