The Canadian truckers who have taken a firm stance against the constantly evolving COVID-19 protocols in Canada, specifically relating to vaccines and cross-border travel, have received a lot of attention over the last couple of weeks. A large cohort of truckers and supporters are currently stationed near Parliament Hill in Ottawa and appear to be digging in and getting comfortable as they continue their peaceful protest.

There has been a lot of coverage on this story, both positive and negative, with several celebrities, athletes and other public figures letting their opinions be known on the matter, including some within the hockey community.

Names like Canadian hockey icon Don Cherry, former Ottawa Senator Mike Fisher, Theoren Fleury and others issued statements about the Freedom Convoy publicly. Some have even had family members taking to social media to show their support, including Veronique Fleury, the wife of Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury.

On Saturday, another famous NHL family has shown support to the truckers, when Patrick and Christina Marleau sent a donation of $500 USD to the Freedom Convoy, along with the message "God Bless You and Thank You".

The coverage of this unprecedented event has been vast, and it appears unlikely that we're going to hear the last of it anytime soon.
