Marc-Andre Fleury is set to become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career this summer. Despite his age, at 37 years old he will surely be a coveted goaltender as several teams could benefit from having a netminder of Fleury's caliber on the roster, whether that be in a starting capacity or a tandem setup.

Fleury spent 2021-22 with the Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild. He had an up-and-down year this season which is rare for him. He played in 45 games with the Blackhawks and 11 with the Wild, though he had a better run with Minnesota going 9-2-0. In the playoffs, his struggles returned as he allowed 15 goals in five games and he had a 3.04 GAA and .906 save percentage.

Even though this year wasn't the best for Fleury, teams will still be looking at him as a number one goalie since he is still capable of playing at a high level. For the past couple of years, there have been rumours about a possible reunion with Fleury and the Pittsburgh Penguins the place where his career began, but unfortunately for Pittsburgh and their fans it looks like they will have to keep dreaming. It has been reported by Dan Kingerski that there is no chance Fleury will return to the Penguins this off-season.

With Pittsburgh reportedly being out on Fleury the question remains; where will Fleury sign? Since there are plenty of teams looking for goaltending it shouldn't be hard for Fleury to find work. We will know the answers sooner than later as free agency is almost upon us.
