Alex Ovechkin preparing for life after hockey with new business venture
It's not enough for Alex Ovechkin to have come over and dominated the National Hockey League. It's not enough to be chasing Wayne Gretzky's goal scoring record (894) and standing a very good chance of breaking it within the next 2 years. No - Ovechkin has no limits. Now, he appears to be branching over into the fashion and apparel business as well.
On Friday, on his personal Instagram account, Ovechkin unveiled the first 3 products that he will be featuring in his new clothing line. Ovi revealed designs for 3 new shirts, all displaying his new patented slogan, "I'm ok, Russian Machine Never Breaks", "The GR8 Chase" and "OVI GR8".
In terms of when these designs are expected to be available, we don't have an exact date, but it will be soon. Some of these slogans were featured in a patent issue Ovechkin faced when he tried to copyright, 'Russian Machine Never Breaks', which has already become a popular Caps website.
I'd imagine that Ovi's shirts will be popular beyond just the Washington Capitals' own fanbase. As one of the NHL's premier talents for the better part of the last two decades, Ovechkin's name is certainly one that has transcended the game.
