Another Leafs trade target off the board as Max Domi is in the process of being traded
The Dallas Stars have been looking for someone to play alongside Tyler Seguin ever since Alexander Radulov left and they may have found their man. According to Frank Seravalli, the Stars and rebuilding Hawks have completed a deal that has sent Max Domi to Dallas.
On a terrible Hawks team that is tanking for Connor Bedard, Domi has had a resurgence of sorts since signing a 1-year deal worth just north of $3M for the season last summer. Through 60 games he has 49 points, which is his highest point total since 2018/2019 when he had 70 in 82 games.
Previous reports indicated that the Hawks thought about signing him to an extension and to have him be one of the veterans to mentor the younger players during the rebuild, but they have clearly chosen a different path - though Domi is a UFA this summer and could choose to return to Chicago then.
The return is not yet known, but it is believed to be Domi and a minor league goalie heading to the Stars with Anton Khudobin and a 2nd round draft pick heading to the Hawks.
