Another horrendous game for Jack Campbell raising a lot of red flags about him as a goaltender; calls his own play ''pathetic''

A 6-2 loss against the Dallas Stars Saturday afternoon pushed Jack Campbell's record to 5-3-0 to begin his tenure with the Edmonton Oilers. In a move that was supposed to solidify the Oilers in goal and fix their goaltending woes, it has not looked that way so far.

While he does have a positive record, Campbell's save percentage (.874) and goals against average (4.20) for the 8 games he has played are not pretty to look at. He has 3 games with a save percentage of .915 or better, but his remaining 5 games are horrendous to look at and are, quite frankly, alarming.

The Leafs faithful know it's not something new from Campbell as he only had one or two months with a save percentage above .900 last season in the blue and white. Following Saturday's game, Campbell described his play as "pathetic", which is pretty accurate, but when you have a team that struggles defensively, as the Oilers do, it's not surprising to see Campbell struggling the way that he is. He may not be what he appeared to have been during his first season in Toronto, but the Oilers' defensemen are not doing him any favours in his first year in Edmonton.
