Another video surfaces of Shane Wright on draft night, this time reacting to the Coyotes passing on him
It's been just over a month now since the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, but the pain of being passed over 3 separate times in the draft must still feel pretty fresh for Shane Wright. A recent video has surfaced showing Shane's pain when he was passed over by Arizona, whom he was absolutely positive would be drafting him.
Wright was the consensus number one North American prospect on NHL Central Scouting's list, and several other scouting lists as well.
Naturally, when Juraj Slafkovsky went first and Simon Nemec went second, Wright was confident that he'd go 3rd, as the top-ranked center in the draft.
"Arizona. I'm happy!"

When Logan Cooley's name was called by the Yotes, Wright wasn't too pleased.
Here's the video in question:

Naturally, he was the 4th pick and now Seattle will have a very motivated prospect, who likely should have gone 1st overall with that pick. Could have been much worse for the Kraken!
