Atlantic Division rival swings a trade for a goaltender
The Montreal Canadiens have made a trade on Saturday, sending minor leaguer Brandon Baddock to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for 56-game NHL veteran Andrew Hammond.
Hammond made a name for himself back in 2014-15 when he walked onto an NHL roster for the first time as a starter and backstopped the Ottawa Senators to a 20-1-2 record, posting a ridiculous .941 SV% and a miniscule 1.79 GAA.
In 56 NHL games, the 34-year-old has managed a 27-15-6 record to go along with a .923 career SV% and a 2.31 career GAA.
Hammond has played 11 games with the Minnesota Wild's AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild, leading them to a 6-2-3 record over that span and putting up a .908 SV%.
