All throughout training camp, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe preached an increased level of physicality and compete level. Thus far, through two games, the Leafs seem to have really picked things up in the hitting department. The arrivals of Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Zach Aston-Reese help for sure, as both players love to throw their weight around. However, the biggest hit of the night didn't belong to either of them.

Does it belong to Jake Muzzin, who absolutely lowered the shoulder and nearly put Garnet Hathaway into the Leafs' bench? Surprisingly, no.

No - the most devastating hit of the night actually belonged to the reigning Rocket Richard Trophy, Hart Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award winner Auston Matthews, who absolutely flatlined Martin Fehervary.

If the Leafs, as an entire team, plan to ramp things up in the physicality department this season, it would certainly go a long way in showing that this team is ready to take the next step as a contender, preparing themselves to carry a new team identity through the season and into the playoffs this spring.
