Entering training camp, the Colorado Avalanche were able to bring back almost their entire roster minus Nazem Kadri in the hopes to begin a repeat. Unfortunately, they will be without one of their biggest playoff performers for an extended amount of time to begin the season.

Head Coach Jared Bednard said today that Captain Gabriel Landeskog "won't be skating any time soon" as he continues to deal with an injury from last season - likely suffered during the playoffs.

The Avs also announced today that Valeri Nichushkin will miss the beginning of training camp as he continues to deal with the foot injury that plagued him throughout the playoffs, specifically the cup final. Fresh off of signing a new 8-year deal that will pay him $6.125M per season thanks to a coming out party in the playoffs where he registered 15 points in 20 playoff games.

The cup defence for the Avs is off to a tough start with two of their top six forwards out of action, but at least they will, or should have Nichushkin back for the season opener.
