The Colorado Avalanche have a 2-0 series lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning and are just 2 wins away from winning their first Stanley Cup since 2001. Much like in Game 1, the Avs were in firm control of the game and outshot and outchanced the Bolts - only this time, instead of a 4-3 OT win, the Avs skated away with a dominant 7-0 win over the defending champs.

No pro athletes like to lose, let alone in blowout fashion, but Lightning forward Corey Perry may have taken things a little too far out of frustration in the late stages of the 2nd period after a post-whistle dust up with Avs forward J.T. Compher, kneeling on the ankle of the 27-year-old and putting his full weight on it by lifting his other leg off of the ice.

Perry knew exactly what he was doing. If not to injure, I can't think of a single valid reason why he would willfully pin down Compher's leg in order to position his knee straight down onto Compher's ankle before pushing himself up, with the Avs' forward's ankle carrying all of Perry's weight.

Judging by what we've seen go unpunished in these playoffs, I doubt we'll see any supplemental discipline. The ultimate form of discipline, though, would be the Avs sweeping the Bolts and handing Perry his third consecutive loss in the Finals (DAL 2020, MTL 2021).
