Brandon Hagel blasts P.K. Subban for dirty play in his post game comments
P.K. Subban is public enemy number one again after intentionally tripping Chicago Blackhawks winger Brandon Hagel following the 23-year-old potting an empty net goal to complete a hat trick on Friday.
Hagel took exception to the trip and tracked down Subban in a scrum after the play and the two began exchanging words and punches before things were finally brought under control by the officials.
After the game, Hagel did not have any kind words for Subban, bringing up his history of slew-footing players to highlight the fact that Subban is no stranger to playing dirty.
"There's a reason, the guy slew-foots everybody, gets those fines. ... Just a dirty play. I have a clear-cut breakaway. Like, what are you going to do? It's a dirty play. He can do what he wants but it's not going to get you very liked around the league."
Blackhawks correspondent Colby Cohen also sounded off on Subban during the post game coverage, labeling him a dirty player and commending Hagel for sticking up for himself and going after Subban to let him know that the trip was unacceptable.
It will be interesting to see whether or not the Department of Player Safety takes a look at this one. With Subban's history of taking people's feet out from under them, it's only a matter of time before he really hurts someone.
