The move comes after yet another major sponsor, Bauer Hockey had paused its role as Hockey Canada's primary provider for the country's Men's Hockey teams. The organization has also had sponsorships from major vendors like Telus, Canadian Tire and Scotiabank suspending sponsorship deals in light of a lack of sufficient action taken to address a variety of scandals and shady operations dating back over the past couple of decades.
TSN's Chris Johnston has reported that an interim management committee will take over the organization's operation until a new board of directors and a brand new CEO can be named. This is a huge day for Hockey Canada and hopefully a big step forward in the right direction.
