Last season, we saw something that is a rarity in hockey and is undoubtedly a disgraceful act within the sport, when LA Kings forward Brendan Lemieux actually bit the hand of Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk during a scrum.

Naturally, Tkachuk was irate about being bitten and could be seen frantically yelling and very clearly letting the officials know that he had been bitten by Lemieux in the exchange.

On Wednesday, during an appearance on the Dropping the Gloves Podcast with John Scott, Lemieux told his side of the story, revealing that Tkachuk had actually attempted to gouge his eyes while his hands were tied up, which led to the bite.

Obviously there are three sides to every story in an altercation like this; there's Lemieux's side, there's Tkachuk's side and then there's the reality of it, which I'm sure is somewhere in the middle.

Nevertheless, Lemieux seems very bothered by the incident still and there is certainly no love lost between Lemieux and the Tkachuk Brothers, which should make for a very interesting 2022-23 season. Thankfully for both sides, with both Tkachuks playing in the Eastern Conference now, their interactions with Lemieux will be limited.
