In a fight-filled Thursday night in the NHL, Trent Frederic of the Boston Bruins took the cake for fight of the night. Why? Well, it's not too often that you see a clean one-punch knockout.

Nicolas Deslauriers of the Philadelphia Flyers might've fought Austin Watson and Mark Kastellic consecutively but Frederic's one punch KO of Columbus Blue Jackets forward, Lane Pederson, was a sight to behold.

With the game tied at 1 apiece midway through the second period, the 6'3, 214-pound Frederic dropped the gloves with 6'0, 192-pound Pederson. Both players sized each other up before Pederson made the first move to clinch up with the Bruins forward. Frederic caught Pederson flush in the jaw and dropped him with one punch, knocking him down with relative ease.

In a game featuring the league's best versus the league's worst, the Bruins not only trailed in this one, but rallied before taking it to overtime, where David Pastrnak scored his 53rd goal of the season.

Pederson left and did not return with what was deemed as an upper-body injury. It was the 7th time that Frederic dropped the gloves this season compared to Pederson's 2nd time.

The fight even had his teammates speechless as Tyler Bertuzzi was quoted post-game as saying:

"That was a good punch. I don't know what else to say."
