Panthers goaltender allows one of the softest, ugliest goals of the season less than 24 hours after stonewalling the Leafs
When the Florida Panthers announced that it would be Alex Lyon in goal against the Maple Leafs on Wednesday night in Toronto, I think just about everyone was anticipating a dominant Leafs win. What we got, however, was a tight 3-2 OT win for the Panthers, thanks to Lyon making 38 saves, including a brilliant stop on Auston Matthews in overtime, in what was arguably the best game of his NHL career.
Well, less than 24 hours later, Lyon was right back in goal for the Panthers against the Montreal Canadiens. Much to the dismay of Leafs Nation, he also allowed a horrendous 1st period goal, looking far more human in this one.
Isn't that just the Leafiest thing ever?
