Yesterday, the Leafs officially named Brad Treliving, the 18th general manager in franchise history. Treliving has prior experience in management, having spent time as an assistant general manager for the Phoenix Coyotes from 2003-2014 before being hired as GM for the Calgary Flames. The Flames and Treliving agreed to part ways in April as his contract with the team expired.
Brad is also the son of Canadian businessman Jim Treliving, who you may know from his time on Dragon's Den or as co-owner of the Boston Pizza restaurant chain. When Brad was announced as Leafs GM, Jim and Boston Pizza shared their thoughts on social media.
There was even a Dragon's Den episode where Jim called Brad regarding a potential hockey-related investment.
Nonetheless, maybe we'll see a Maple Leafs/Boston Pizza collaboration in the near future.
