After Jake Muzzin collided with Arizona Coyotes forward Clayton Keller and left Monday's game with an apparent neck injury, there has been a lot of concern over his long-term wellbeing.

Teammate and close friend Mitch Marner was the first Leaf to discuss Muzzin's health status and reveal his concerns about Muzzin's life after hockey and made it seem almost like Muzzin's season could he in jeopardy.

TSN's Darren Dreger joined the TSN OverDrive crew on Wednesday, revealing that his sources relayed some information to him that Muzzin could be facing an extremely long layoff as a result of his latest injury.

Now, another Leaf has touched on Muzzin's injury and has made it seem much more minor than what Marner and Dreger have indicated. T.J. Brodie told the media on Thursday that Muzzin seems "good" and that the team is hoping he's back "soon".

Now, what's important to remember here is that the Leafs did not place Muzzin on LTIR, which would have meant that he was sidelined for at least 10 games and 24 days. Instead, they placed him on IR, which means he'll be eligible to come back after spending 7 days on injured reserve.

It's very possible that Marner's words were taken way out of context. Maybe Brodie's thoughts on the subject are a little closer to reality. Either way, I'm sure we'll find out in the coming weeks, if not sooner.
