The pre-season has been dominated by Bedard content. Every deke, pass or little play has been clipped and posted by every hockey outlet out there, even some that were ordinary plays. It was fitting that his much awaited first pre-season goal was an empty netter. Now that all the pre-amble is over, we finally get to see Connor Bedard play a regular season NHL game.
Clearly, all the hype around the game had Bedard a little nervous. Standing in the tunnel with his Blackhawks teammates, preparing to take his rookie lap Bedard's face suddenly sunk. He dashed back into the locker room before returning, his face bright red, carrying his forgotten hockey stick. He and his teammates shared a laugh at his expense before heading out onto the ice. Honestly, it was probably a good way to loosen up a bit before the biggest moment of his life so far.
