Connor Bedard has been the projected first overall pick in the 2023 draft for the past two years and he is doing everything he can to ensure he doesn't end up like his Team Canada teammate Shane Wright, who was passed over 3 times and fell to the 4th overall pick (don't worry - that's not happening, Connor).

Bedard has registered a point in his last 27 games for the Regina Pats in the WHL and has 64 points in 28 games. Now with Team Canada, Bedard has tied a pair of records. Bedard tied the Team Canada record for most points in a single tournament with 17 after his 4 assist night against Sweden. While it took Brayden Schenn and Mason McTavish 7 games to hit that total, it has only taken Bedard 4 to reach it. Not only did Bedard tie the single tournament record for Canada, but he also tied Eric Lindros' record for most points in World Junior competition for Team Canada with 31.

Lindros set the record in 21 games while Bedard has done it in just 13 games. Bedard will surely hold each of these records by himself at the end of the tournament. By scoring one more goal he will also hold the record for most goals scored by a Canadian at the World Juniors with 15. He's currently tied with Jordan Eberle at 14. This seems likely to be another record he'll have sole possession of before long.
