Kane knows that the end of his days as an NHL player is coming soon. Signing with a contending team would give him another shot at hosting the Cup before that happens. According to Staple, Kane will stay put and re-sign with the New York Rangers.
Because of his injury, this isn't likely to happen right away. Staple expects Kane to put ink to paper in November once he is fit to play. With elite goaltending, a Norris trophy winner on the back end and players like Kreider, Zibanejad and Panarin up front, the Rangers will be a force to be reckoned with yet again, especially if Kane decides to stay in the Big Apple.
