Dallas Stars owner Tom Gaglardi has been known to call out players in the past and he has all the right to. He's paying them with his money and if they aren't performing, it's a "bad return on investment", as they say in the business world.

A few years ago, Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn were called out for their poor performances and how the amount of money they're being paid was more than they deserved with how they were playing.

Today, the Stars' owner doubled down and called out Seguin and Benn saying, "With those contracts they've got to bring more. They're hampering the team." Even calling their performances "pathetic at this point" at the end of his statement.

Those are some very harsh words for his two biggest stars, but also warranted given how they performed this past season and in the playoffs. At a combined cap hit of $19.35M, both Seguin and Benn should be putting up 80+ points each, not combining for 95 total points on the season (Seguin, 49 and Benn, 46).

Whether the message gets through to both of them won't be until training camp and the season begins, but if it doesn't, the possibility of one or both being moved could increase drastically.
